Thing/Blog: Prism Launcher

Prism Launcher is a Minecraft launcher that allows you to install mods easily and has a less annoying user interface than the official launcher. Today, I downloaded the "Sodium+" minecraft modpack (I had used sodium a few years ago, iirc it makes minecraft run multithreaded among other things) from Prism Launcher, and it was super surreal because I essentially went directly from a laggy Minecraft 1.8.9 directly to a super smooth Minecraft whateverthelatestversionis with a bunch of bells and whistles that made it seem almost like Breath of the Wild.

Blog: I switched to Linux

I switched from Windows 11 to Linux! Linux Mint, specifically. I'm glad I did, because my laptop actually works as a computer now and not just as an overheating lagbox that I can't even use as a calculator even though it's running like a gazillion calculations a second. There was some difficulty switching though, mainly because the only large drive I have is formatted as exFat, which meant I couldn't resize it to dual boot off of it, and couldn't make a system image backup onto it without using windows exclusive software (because of elongated files or something), which I then still have to access through a windows virtual machine running on linux to get at my files. Aside from that though, it was mostly a pain-free process.
